Over 130 years, the Max Planck Society has grown to become Germany's most prominent research organization, continuing to push the boundaries of scientific discovery.

Founded

Officially established in 1948, but tracing its roots to the Kaiser Wilhelm Society founded in 1911, which Einstein joined in 1914.

Legacy

The society has been awarded 18 Nobel Prizes to affiliated researchers, continuing Einstein's legacy of groundbreaking theory.

As research institute for natural sciences, arts, and humanities. This was the forerunner of the current Max Planck Society.
