HealthTrack
Project Overview
Redesigned a mobile wellness application to improve user engagement through intuitive health tracking features that encourage daily self-care routines.
Challenge
The original HealthTrack app had stagnant usage metrics. Users found tracking features overwhelming while the UI felt disconnected from core health goals.
- Low 7-day retention rate (42%) despite solid feature set
- Mental health tracking not integrated with physical health metrics
- Onboarding process failed to establish personalized health goals
Solution
We implemented a holistic design approach that combines behavioral science with modern UI/UX patterns. Key innovations included:
Design System:
- Mood-tracking visualizations that sync with physical activity
- Dynamic goal setting with motivational push notifications
- Adaptive color scheme matching user's daily emotional state
Results
The redesign achieved:
- 67% increase in daily active users
- 7-day retention rate rose to 68%
- Selected as "Best Health App UX" at UX Awards 2024
Design Process
The project followed an iterative, user-centered development process:
- Extensive user research with biometric data analysis
- Co-creation workshops with health professionals
- Motion design prototyping with real-world scenarios
- Continuous A/B testing across 4 major health metrics
